The Government of Tanzania has acknowledged a series of statements issued over the past week by various development partners and foreign governments regarding the events of October 29, 2025, saying it has taken note of the concerns raised.
The government has issued a stern warning to underperforming public entities, cautioning that they risk being merged or dissolved should they fail to take urgent steps to improve their performance.
BoT Governor, Emmanuel Tutuba, announced the plan on December 8 during a meeting with leaders of financial institutions at the central bank’s headquarters in Dar es Salaam.

The decision comes as the surge in passengers has revealed ticket scalping, where some individuals purchase tickets only to resell them at inflated prices.
