Since the Tennessee Main Street program's inception in 2010, 78 rural commercial districts have been improved. These 12 new additions bring that total number up to 90.
Wilmar International confirmed it could take six months to repair the terminal that was hit by a recent Russian missile attack. Operations would resume as soon as the appropriate permits were received and those are expected in the coming weeks. The attack destroyed containers carrying grains and other ag products destined for Africa and Asia.
The European Parliament has approved a proposed law to ban plastic packaging and produce groups are pushing back. Fresh produce growers and exporters say the new rules will have great consequences on food safety and waste and are calling for some policies to be scaled back. If the regulations receive final formal approval from EU countries, all plastic packaging will be done away with by 2030.

Germany is calling for a ban on ag products from Russia and Belarus. An ag policy spokesperson for the country's parliament says Germany and Europe are not reliant on Russian grain and they must be halted. He says increasing tariffs on the products is insufficient.
