The Lighthouse Church and Ministries (TLHC) announced April 4th that Pastor Demond Hammond, campus pastor of Lighthouse West, would receive the President’s Call to Service Award at a gala in Houston on April 7. At the gala, Hammond received a medal, certificate, and letter from President Joe Biden to commemorate his award and service.
The Royal SkillsUSA Chapter competed on April 4th-6th at the SkillsUSA State Competition at multiple locations around Corpus Christi, Texas. A grand total of 43 students from Royal ISD captured awards at the competition, where over 6,000 students and over 350 CTE/high schools participated.
“We’re focusing on the game in front of us but it’s important and we really want it,” DeYoung said. “It’s the first time in school history we’d go back to back and there isn’t’ a better group of guys to do it with. I’m excited we have this opportunity.”
